Fashion Trends to Keep in 2018
Investing your hard earned cash in fashion take its toll on your wallet, especially as the goal posts seem to keep moving. With the never-ending carousel of new trends and popular looks it can be difficult to keep up with fashion and always looking your best.
2017 was a year that brought an array of fashion trends; some that we’d love to keep and some that we can’t wait to get rid of.
Below we have selected all the best trends that will flow over in to 2018 so you can stay ahead of the game going in to the New Year.
1. Utilitarian Wear
Utility wear saw a steep rise in popularity in 2017 and it is sure to continue in to this year too. Utility styled jackets like the ones produced by G-Star are a perfect example of this fashion trend.
Designers are now turning to these performance fabrics to create stylish clothing that can be used for more than just work and we are seeing more designs of footwear, trousers and tailoring to add to the vast array of jackets that we have previously seen
2. Vertical Stripes
Stripes have almost taken over from checks and you don’t have to look far to find a stylish outfit that sports stripes. From tailored blazers to t-shirts everything seems to have stripes.
One of the main reasons why stripes have become a menswear staple is down to their versatility. Team this Vivienne Westwood striped shirt with some beige chinos, rolled sleeves and crisp boat shoes for a classic spring look.
3. Wide Fit/Cropped Trousers
From hipsters, boarders and chic fashionistas, everyone has been wearing wider fit or cropped trousers. This is a look that we have been seeing on the runways and it is now starting to become more mainstream.
It’s taken it’s time to come into popular street fashion and we are sure that there will be many people that are afraid of the slightly looser fit. However, we think you should take the plunge if you haven’t already.
Opt for straight leg denim to get you started and try teaming these with a chunky boot. Experiment with turn-ups too!
4. Retro Sportswear
If you were unaware that retro sportswear was a thing, then you may as well get back on your spaceship and head back to whatever galaxy you’ve just come from! This has been big in the game for the last few years and it is showing no signs of stopping.
With big brands such as Tommy Jeans opting to go back to the 90’s and styling their latest garms on old school trends it’s important to remember not to ditch anything that looks like a blast from the past.
5. The Roll neck
The roll neck has been a favourite since way back in the 70’s and it has continued to be a pivotal piece in any mans wardrobe.
Team your roll neck with some trousers and a shearling Levis jacket for a winning look.
