Get the Look – Nick Grimshaw
How to Get the Grimshaw Look
Who is he?
We’ve been long-time fans of Nick Grimshaw’s rockstar dress sense, often spotted at the most exclusive parties in town, Grimshaw is proof that being locked up in a radio studio is no excuse to let your style game slip.
Nick Grimshaw is an English television and radio presenter. Best known for hosting the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and appearing on television shows including “The One Show” and the “X Factor”.
How to Master Grimshaw Style
Having conquered the London Collection Men’s front rows, the man has now moved into design by creating a capsule line for Topman. All the items are based on the clothes Grimshaw owns – so you know they’ve been thoroughly road tested. The items themselves are big on prints (his love of leopard print is immediately evident) splashed over rock n’ roll staples such as fringed jackets, knee-length coats, slouchy sweatshirts and ripped jeans.
So, the main question you’re asking yourself is… how do you master this look?
The Casual Grimshaw Look
It’s hard to find a day when the Grimshaw hasn’t been spotted in a pair of black skinny jeans. Usually teamed with a dark denim jacket, he brightens up the look with a colourful (or floral patterned) shirt. He completes this look with a pair of black boots and sunglasses with a few bracelets to accessorise.
The best brand to help you master this casual, edgy look would have to be Levis, the go-to brand for rockstar denim.
You can also throw in a brightly coloured shirt by Tommy Hilfiger to really help you complete the look!
The Dapper Grimshaw Look
We’re sure you’ve spotted this super cool dude presenting television shows or award ceremonies in the past, and we can guarantee he’s never appeared in the “why did they wear that” section of the newspaper. Grimshaw brings a unique indie style to the common tux. Usually donning a slim fitted suit, he has been known to switch the matching suit trousers for a pair of black skinny jeans and why not – it’s a great look! Teamed with a crisp shirt, black shoes (or boots) and a tie (or bowtie) he’s definitely one of the coolest guys at the party!
To perfect this look we would suggest checking out these black suede Jeffrey West boots – smart and edgy they’re perfect to pull of the Grimshaw edge!
Frequently hanging out with the coolest kids on the block, it’s no wonder the Radio 1 DJ was appointed by the British Fashion Council as its latest London Collections: Men ambassador. At 33 he still manages to look ‘down with the kids’ but avoids looking remotely ‘mutton dressed as ram’. #standout
