Who’d have thought that sending 11 fame hungry contestants in to a villa to have their emotions toyed with and tested for 7 weeks could create such brilliant entertainment.
It seems that the whole nation has been infected with the Love Island bug this summer and you will be hard pressed to find someone that is not on the edge of their seat eager to watch the next episode. Despite Love Island traditionally having a female following it appears that this year even us guys have become addicted. In workplaces nationwide we’ve been desperately waiting for someone to mention life in the villa so we can pounce and reveal all of opinions on the Love Island antics and how we are secret fans of the show too. “OMG my head is gone”.
We are now fast approaching the final week and the show has provided us with some great entertainment and also some insight into men’s fashion trends. So, to avoid us “putting all our eggs in one basket”, we have put “down on paper” some of the best styles seen in Love Island this year.
Over the last two years there has been a steep increase in the amount of ripped jeans on the market and despite your parents continually making the comment “Did you buy those like that?” they are an extremely fashionable piece to have at your disposal.
Every member of the Love Island cast has been seen in a pair of ripped skinny jeans this summer and you can see for yourself how good they look. The ripped jeans add an edgy detail to an otherwise standard pair of jeans.
Long Line T-Shirt
Characters such as Dom Lever were often seen teaming tight skinny jeans with a slightly long line fit t-shirt. The boys have always worn these with a snug fit to show off their biceps in an attempt to woo the ladies. Has it worked?
Box Fit T-Shirt
King Kem. The charm of Essex has been spotted wearing a number of oversized boxfit t-shirts and shirts. This number from Religion has his name written all over it. Not literally.
Religion Steel Captive Suedette T-Shirt – £49.95
Patterned Short Sleeve Shirt
Kem once again is making the style guide, along with fellow contestant Theo. Both have donned short sleeve pattern shirts during the series for the evenings in the villa. Theo opted for an open zebra print shirt, whilst Kem has been seen in a variety of different patterns, one being a khaki and blue camo print.
Spending every day underneath the Spanish sun and basking around the pool at the villa it comes as no surprise that we have seen an awful lot of swimwear from the guys. What we have noticed is that everyone in the villa is wearing short swimming shorts that cut mid-thigh and often sport a funky pattern. Here are our favourites.
Fila Vintage Blue Radience Artoni Water Logo Swim Shorts – £23.95
Calvin Klein Black/Pink Abstract Print Logo Swimshorts – £34.95
And that concludes our Love Island style guide. We hope now you are ready to “gather round the fire pit” for the final re-coupling and we’re going to “little bit leave it” there… #standout
