How do you clean leather trainers?
The key to keeping your favourite pair of designer leather trainers in the best condition possible is to ensure you are cleaning them correctly. It is vital that you never put your leather trainers in the washing machine and instead opt for a gentle hand washing method. It's important that you do not use any harsh chemicals on your leather trainers as they can damage the material and cause unwanted wear and tear.

Instead, opt for a classic washing-up liquid with warm water combination on a microfibre cloth and gently rub away any dirt. Removing the shoe laces and soaking in a laundry detergent is a great way to instantly revitalise your shoes. For dirt that is hard to budge on the rubber soles, use a toothbrush and the same washing-up liquid solution to scrub away any dirt - if this does not work then we recommend using a very small amount of bleach to carefully scrub the soles.

Are leather trainers suitable for formal events?
Yes, depending on the level of formality and dress code, leather trainers can be worn to a variety of formal events. The right pair of designer leather trainers can add a trendy element to a traditional suit, whether it's for a wedding, christening or work event, a pristine pair of leather trainers can be a comfortable and stylish formal footwear option.

Is leather better than suede?
Both leather and suede are both quality materials and stylish footwear options, however both have pros and cons. Leather trainers are generally more durable than suede as leather is more robust, waterproof and hard-wearing, where as suede is delicate, can be easily affected by water and is more susceptible to stains and damage. Therefore, if you love both leather and suede footwear, we would recommend wearing suede on days where you spend more time indoors and leather for outdoor occasions in order to protect your footwear.
